Refilling Fire extinguisher

Fire extinguisher refilling scenarios:-

Using the fire extinguisher, even partially, renders it useless in any subsequent fire scenario. Therefore, it is crucial to get fire extinguisher refilling promptly and without delay.

If there is any hindrance within the extinguisher, such as a pressure-related issue or breakage or leakage of any of the components.

The statutory framework in the country mandates that we conduct the Hydrostatic pressure test on the shell of the fire extinguisher every 3 years.

Malpractices involved in the Industry:-

1.) Unskilled and untrained individuals often perform the activity of refilling fire extinguishers in a highly compromised environment.

2.) Local players usually limit the fire extinguisher refilling process to merely re-pressurising the cylinder, without actually replacing any component.

3.) Cheap chemicals, such as marble dust or low-quality powder, are used as substitutes for the original dry chemical powder, posing significant risks.

4.) Substandard spares are substituted for the original components during the process.

Our Refilling Process

  • Firstly, We discharge the fire extinguisher and empty at our premises and all the spares are replaced by authentic parts.
  • Secondly, we will subject the fire extinguisher to the Hydro Static Pressure Test at 30 kg cm² for 2 minutes to check for leaks and the burst capacity.
  • We refill the fire extinguisher with the requisite extinguishing agent, producing the dry chemical powder and Foam concentrates at our own premises.
  • We charge the extinguisher with a mixture of 99% pure nitrogen and helium.
  • We subject all the extinguishers to various tests, including the Tap Test, Vibration Test, Drop Test, Corrosion Test, Hydro cyclic pressure test etc.
